Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford

Hi all,
We were stopped in the Four Seasons Hotel car park on Saturday for the night and got talking to one of the other Motorhomers on Sunday morning before we left. The owner of the Hotel pulled up alongside their motorhome on Saturday afternoon and angrily shouted " Who gave you permission to stay here" the gentle man replied that it was on the hotel website that motorhomes were welcome. The owner drove off with no further comment. The guy from the motorhome spoke to the general manager later about the incident and it was confirmed that the owner had spoken to them. It appears that they are going to remove the "Motorhomes Welcome" reference from the website. I made a point off speaking to the lady on reception before I left to leave her in no doubt that we had spent nearly 100 euros in the Hotel during our stay and she said the vast majority off Motorhomers do bring trade but some abuse the privilege of being able to park freely in their car park. She mentioned that some do not spend any money but use toilet and shower facilities. She said that she would pass on what I had said to the General Manager. I hope that the owner reconsiders and will continue to let motorhomes stay.

I hope they reconsider.

I see no mention of Motorhomes on their website, has it already been removed or have I missed it I wonder.

The Four Seasons will definitely lose business but the biggest losers will be the pubs and restaurants in Carlingford, time for the council to get their finger out and provide Motorhome parking.

again its the misers who won't spend a few quid for a meal or a few drinks that ruin it for the rest of us. If there is free parking available then we must support the owner by buying something should it be a meal or drinks. What are we coming to - take take take and then grumble.

I have to agree with you 100%. Motorhomers need to show appreciation to these places by spending some money with them and making a point of letting them know who you are
