Is there any truth to the rumour that it is not healthy to run the fridge/freezer empty?. Having a few beers with the lads as usual when it came up. High stool talk.............or .......fact?.

Well it is not healthy from a healthy diet perspective but otherwise no issue and yes Digger is correct if the device is not plugged in then you should allow air to circulate. Hope that helps.

I run my fridge 24/7even if it's empty but most times I have a few tins in it if you do turn it off clean it out well give it a good dry and leave the door open most new fridges run on 134 a gas were the old fridges run on amoneia which will settle in the tank and is harder to get going again if it is left of to long that's why you here of people saying that they turn the fridge upside down

More efficient if it is full, but that's about all to worry about.
