.. to be true.

Thought everything working 100% in the new MH but left the fridge on all day yesterday and it got warm instead of cold.

Any hints on making it work again most gratefully received :) - take it out turn it upside down? it hasn't been used in 18 months.

Have you tried it on Gas or electric ??

I have heard turning it up side down for 5/10 min might help to get it going again.

Well I now know what the smell was yesterday!

The fridge is leaking gas :-( - smells like amonia.

Might be a few problems but at least you are getting them sorted.

a fridge that heats instead of cools and smells of ammonia sounds very like a dead fridge - you might consider a mortgage for a new one!

Nothing to be lost by turning it upside down and giving it a good shake every couple of hours but if its leaking ammonia it sounds terminal

I dont know how many/how big your batteries are but you might want to consider a small domestic (table top) compressor fridge and inverter you can get the fridge for less than £100 and if you get a AA or AAA rated one it wont be too sore on the batteries you would need at least a 500W inverter though (they draw a lot of power on start up but after that its quite modest) dont let the wattage scare you too much as they do not run all the time.

something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lec-R5…B003PJJOYG
its rated at 73W although if you look around Im sure that you will find alternatives.

Thanks Ray, I got a fridge for it, fitted and working great. Really needed a gas one as we go away for a couple of weeks at a time with no EHU available.
