I know what you mean.
I think is just because they have such large flat surfaces that dirt seems to be more obvious.

I have ours wrapped in several layers of a silicon based seal on top of the polish which makes it much easier to prepare for the road.
The dirt is still on it but removes much easier.

Where we live bird dirt is a big problem and it needs rinsed off before it etches into the surface.
Pain in the ass but as you say "a labour of love".

some of our customers have treated their campers to G-Technique from cleanCar.ie , and they seem to be always spotless! I called to one of them , with an A-class , he had driven it to us in north Tipp from Cork City , on a cross country route , and home again , and it still looked like it had just been washed!

G-Technique is pretty good stuff.
If I remember correctly it is for yachts. Good stuff on GRP. If you do use it make sure the surface is very clean first.
