Hi John.
For a start the best thing is not to rush into anything, go to as many dealers as possible bring the whole family look at each van See what layout that you think would suite you and them there are so many different layouts.

(1) If you find one you like the next thing is to lookout for is Underbody Rust the older the van the more prone this will be.

(2) Dampness and water leeks is another.

If you find one you like, Bring a mechanic to check it out.

I dont know what part of the Country your in.

Have a look here http://www.donagheymotorhomes.ie/

Just be aware John that any passengers must be carried on forward facing seats and be secured with a seat belt....there are older MHs out there with side facing seats and you will be told it is ok to carry passengers on them legally...that is so...however a newer piece of legislation overruled that loophole and if you carry any unrestrained passengers you are liable to be prosecuted (as they can become human cannonballs inside the MH in the event of an accident)...so restrained means forward facing seat and seat belts.....this effectively reduces many older 4 - 6 berth MHs to 2 people carriers.
