Newcastle - enforcement officer

We are parked on the small car park across the road from Donard car park.
Had a knock on the door by an enforcement officer after complaints from a resident.
It seems you can park anywhere in Newcastle for a maximum of 12 hours. Basically after 12 hours move to another spot. Even the bay beside you! He was very friendly and helpful.
I explained about motorhomers spending money and the benefits of motorhome parking. He is going to pass it on to council.

Typed on phone - more info later

Probably.

As the officer only officially seen us at 9 am, we don't have to leave until 9pm. But we will move soon.

I know it might seem a bit pedantic but if you arrive at 3pm in the afternoon does that mean you (legally) need to move on at 3am! Does it only apply once you get a visit by an enforcement officer.

It seems to fly against what the council are trying to achieve with the recent meetings regarding motorhomes and trying to get hospitality businesses to provide parking.

We are allowed to park in the bus spaces in Donard car park as informed by council employees.

We had a chat with the enforcement officers on Saturday in Newcastle as well but we were up the other end in the carpark beside the Slieve Donard. Both were very pleasent and really had no issues with us parking there. She was the more helpful of the 2 because it was her that said to keep your 4 wheels inside the 1 space. I mentioned the overhand to the back and she shrugged and said as long as your 4 wheels are in one space. The 12 hour rule wasnt mentioned.

<_< ^_^ We will let you know if there are any issues in November. After I take the silver screen down! That's not next November by the way. Should have written "during" November.
