Spent friday night in the carpark in Newcastle. Was very pleased to see one of the forum members on here handing out leaflets to the motorhomers. It shows a real dedication to the board. I said i would post a hello to him (lol i dont know his name) but I was watching the footie or i might have found that out !!!!
Went up to Spelga on Sat night and pulled a nice wee 2lb brownie out for dinner. mmmmm Motorhome, footie, fishing, bbq and beer. Living the dream lol

hi all,
I was down that way on Saturday afternoon and seen two motorhomes in the carpark evidently doing overnighters, not the Donard one but beside the sea at the pavillion Kent Amusements side?
Whats the criac there - any hassle from others?
Anyone stay in Donard Carpark?
I think the one at the Slieve Donard side has a height barrier? It would be so handy for Percy French's and a few Black necters then back to the rig?

Love the Mournes! No Better! Flew a Helicopter over the mountains once and Jeepers - Wonderful part of the world on out doorstep!

Also noticed a Tag in Dundrum Carpark at the seaside - football pitch area - aer you allowed to stay?
Good for the Stags Head - nice place to eat?

It was the Slieve Donard park we stayed in. No height barriers. We had a chat with the enforcement officers there and as long as you have "4 wheels inside the lines" they dont have a problem with motorhomes.
It was a wee bit noisy till about 12.30 but then it just went quiet.
We have 4 vans that travel together so its always good to get somewhere central and no hassle

Cheers John
The four of you together is surely security in itself.
Growing up the "Wilmar" in Newcastle - Renamed now - was the place to be at with your motorbike.
At chucking out time- the DOnard Carpark was a lively spot for wheelies, donuts etc.
Thanks

There are no height barriers at Donard park either, the bays are a bit tight for the length of a motorhome as most of the adjoining ones have bollards to separate the two rows. The small car park opposite Hugh mccanns doesn't have any bays marked out and you would see Motorhomes there.
