Lismore is beautiful and well worth a visit. You can tour the gardens but not the actual castle and their is an art exhibition. Their is a car park at the end of the castle and it doesn't have any height restrictions. I have seen MH's parked there during the day and there is a little play ground beside it. Having said that I see no reason why they would not allow you to overnight park - there is no charge. The hotel also has a large car park, so you could call and ask them if they would mind you parking up while you avail of their bar?
If Lismore doesn't work out the lookout in Dungarvan about twenty minutes away is a great wild camping spot. There are some great places to eat in Dungarvan and this over looks the quay from Abbeyside so just a quick walk over the bridge into town some great pubs and restaurants.

Seriously I would chance the car park at the castle. Please let me know how you get one. I am away this weekend at Body and Soul this weekend otherwise you could come and hook up here (outskirts of Dungarvan!)

Which side of the river is the "lookout" , Abbeyside or Dungarvan?

Hi Shivster, most vans seem to park on the Dungarvan side near the town park. I know there is a car park in Abbeyside near the church is this where you mean?
