Hi does anyone know if its possible to raise the height of the steering wheel on a 1993 Fiat Ducato based Hymer B564? only need about an inch or so, did look at a removable steering wheel but not sure if they make they for something so old.

I think they do as I nearly bought one for my 1990 Pilote. I was going to fit one so that I could get the drivers seat fully turned around.

I am near positive I got the details from here: http://www.talbotoc.com/portal.php

will do - I wonder if any of the universal kits on ebay would fit - when i get the van back home i will take the steering wheel off and have a look at the fittings and then go from there. I have emailed Marcle Leisure and will hopefully get a reply from them in due course - will keep you posted.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on a reply from marcel leisure,

When I was looking to buy air bag kit for my last MH I sent an email looking for a bit of info and a price, it was nearly 2 weeks when I got a reply with some remark about being the so so busy, I actually had a kit bought and fitted by the time they replied, but I didn't let on until I got the next snide remark and that was the last reply I got :-)

I've dealt with Marcle Leisure and found him very obliging. When I bought my air suspension kit off him for the Boxer I asked if he did a kit for the older Trafic (I'm involved with the RTMR) and at that time he didn't.
Over a year later he emailed me to say that he had aquired some templates for the brackets etc.. for the Trafic and asked if I knew anyone who would be interested in having him fit the air suspension kit to their van at a discount while he could work out what would be needed to put a kit together.
The guy who had the work done said he was a very pleasant laid back guy.

Now that's sounds like better service, may be I got him at the busiest time but I was shocked at the time delay,

Happy days

I did get a reply from him last night and I sent another email to him and am currently awaiting the results of that will let you know in due course. Till i get the steering wheel off i don't know if one of the universal kits on ebay will fit or not - can't seeing it being that complicated as there will only be one or two wires for the horn and thats it.

You could try asking Chris at Green Conversions
I'm not saying to buy a power steering kit off him, but he takes them to bits on a regular basis so might be able to help.

Got a reply from Chris sadly whilst he has seen them fitted to motorhomes he has no knowledge of where to get them. When I get the van back will have a look and send the measurements off to various companies and see what comes back.

I can't get my drivers seat fully round either, but don't think raising the wheel would help.
Removable wheel sounds a better option.

just thinking, what about removing the solid seat base and fitting a fully adjustable seat like from a truck
that will move up or down and tilt adjust, just a thought?
