Hi there,
I've just joined up as a full member. We come over to Ireland most years so looking forward to trying out your POIs!
Does anyone know if the site at Greystones Harbour, Nr Dublin is still ok? I had a look on streetview and it looks like a massive building site...

It's fine, most of the work is now complete. There is a sign which says no over nights but ignore that as everyone is made welcome.

That could only happen in Ireland. It's true though just ignore the sign and they will possibly take in down in about 10 years time.

While the pub and chippy both beside the parking area serve decent grub, there are a number of good restaurants in the town itself and are only a short walk away.

This rant probably isn't relevant to the op, but... Most of the work isn't complete, it's just that the developers are happy to sit on the site and leave it in the mess it is now until the property market picks up. The residents have had to fight for every bit of public space they now have (I think they've finally given some access to the north peir!). Why the County Council and some Councillors have allowed this to develop is another question.

Was there on St Patricks weekend and it certainly wasnt a building site. The wooden hoarding which shut off the marina/north pier had been taken down and it gave a more finished feel than that of a year ago.

It's all relative I guess, but it's certainly a long way from what it was supposed to be (or even what it was), in terms of public amenity.

Passed through greystones harbour yesterday. 2 other m/h parked up. Had lunch in beech house bar and an icecream next door in coffee shop.
Lovely new outside area in beech house bar facing harbour.
