Loosing Faith!!!

Hi All
Starting ot loose faith. It seems like everytime I take the wagon out I develop a new problem. I replaced my engine battery 3 weeks ago. All was apparently well. I was in Gort at the weekend... leisure battery pretty much dead by day 2, Ran out of gas(No big deal, but a bit of hassle), started the van to come home this morning... Battery light on all the way home(5 hours drive) worried about turning the engine off if I stopped to eat or filled up. Is owning a motorhome always this stressful? Not sure how much more my wallet or me can take!!!

What do you reckon? Is it the alternator?
Any suggestions on best deals on new leisure battery?

Thanks
Ciaran 🇧🇭

Sounds like the alternator, you can get them refurbished. As for leisure battery why not use a second hand car battery for the time being until everything gets sorted.

I had that same problem recently, camper battery would go flat, battery light constantly on, had the altenator removed only to be told it was fine. on closer inspection found a fuse on the battery feeding the altenator that had blown, check it on your van, its popular with the german makes.

Yep , the infamous blown fuses or burnt connections/bad earths are nearly always the problem . A lot of MH manufacturers fit fuses that blow too easily , or worse still , overheat , melt and cause bad connections. Re the alternator light , check the small wire from the D+ pin isn't chafed off off anything.
