Autotrail Scout Question

 ·
Posted: 26.04.2014  ·  #1
Hi

I am a proud owner of a 2006 Autotrail Scout (Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD) but have a few issues / questions I would like answered. If anyone can give me any help guidance it would be most welcome.

Points:

1. When I drive her hard uphill and load the engine over 3000 revs I get a red engine caption (far left) it stays on until I reduce revs it then remains out until next such load. Is this normal or do I have a problem?

2. I have just purchased from ROSE Awnings an Omnister Bike rack (type that fits over rear spare wheel) but the brackets that attach to the chassis at rear are far too short; the vendor suggests they should be a standard size but is bemused by my problem. Has anyone encountered such an issue, if so how was it resolved?

3. I have lost the freshwater drain valve from the drainpipe but finding it difficult to get replacement. All taps / valve found so far are plastic items that are the incorrect diameter to connect to the outlet pipe. Any suggestions?

4. Lastly; I am unable to drop the rear roof ladder from the stowed position. There is a release pull button but does not function and therefore I can not get it to release. Any advice?

Thanks in advance for your time and support on my problems and you advice will be warmly welcome. I am a technical kinda guy but these have me stumped.

Martin

Don't have an authorial or one on a fiat chassis but it sounds like you have a problem with the engine, probably the egr valve needs cleaned

Point #3 If its the same as mine go to a plumers/hardware shop and buy a 3/4 inch non restrictive compression ball valve. Fit a 6 inch piece of 3/4 plastic pipe into it and push it up the original flexi pipe and tighten with a jubilee clip all done for less than a fiver.

Point #4 Turn the key anti clockwise and smother in WD40.
