I would suggest a Three sim from http://www.three.co.uk/ as if you plan to be visit North and South Ireland there will be no roaming charges and can be used for data North & South.

I've just changed to 3 mobile to be able to use it North & South and only discovered while down South for easter break International roaming is not permitted for the 1st 30 days. I couldn't use the phone at all until I came back up north.

I knew that as they told me when I signed up. Something to do with stopping people in the South using a Northern address and constantly roaming, but I am sure they could just wait a month.

If that is the case would it be possible for one of us to purchase one now and activate it for maripossa.

I see on the three website if you try to get a date only sim on PAYG it only lists dongles.

I could be wrong, going to check it out for sure. But 30 days hadn't went passed when I used my MiFi in the South.

Hi,

Your best way would be to go into a Three shop and ask for a PAYG Data SIM, it will work in UK & Ireland.

I tried a 3 prepay data SIM for my iPad last year. I found it a hassle as they couldn't text me the password; they finally had the support staff from Asia call me.
Initially, they said put the SIM in an Iphone.
When I bought an iPhone that could tether, then I cancelled it.
However, when a got a PAYG Orange SIM in Spain all worked well, they could send me a "text"-like message that popped up on the iPad.
I wondered if anyone at 3 had ever used an Ipad.

From 1st July roaming on 3 is abolished for a number of countries in Europe, just use it as your normal allowance no extra charges .
