Hi All, Does anyone know of a company or otherwise that would service my 1K genny. For whatever reason I don't have a spark, I have checked all fluid levels, changed the plug and still no joy. With the greatest of respect I am in North Down so distance comes into play. :-|

If it's engine related then any car, motorcycle, lawnmower service centre will do as they are a fairly simple construction.

Seen that it is the engine side, I would imagine any lawn mower, chainsaw or small engined power tool dealer or hire firm could help you or point you in the right direction.

Depends on the make,
I have an 8kva diesel back up gunny for the house as we had power cuts weekly at one point ( not as frequent now thank god) it's a kipor and when the automatic voltage regulator went no body would touch it, I was told what the problem was but not one out of 6 I tried would touch it,

I ended up getting one off eBay and she's as good as new again,

Hope you don't run into the same thing as me,

Bring the house kettle with you,or use the gas,the new kettle is not a low wattage kettle,it will be written on it some where

I would have thought a 2ltr genny would be capable of boiling more than 10 kettles(more than 10kva)

The kettle it is tripping out on is 3000 watt I tested the generator with an angle grinder and no problem

Your kettle is exceeding the output of the generator. You also need to remember the the charger.fridge etc will use up some of the generators output.

Your angle grinder would be fine as most of them are around 500-1000w.

What is the max output of your generator paddyx? When you say "2ltr", do you mean 2kw?

The generator is 2Kva this is 1.6kW or 1600 watts your 3000 watt kettle is way too power hungry for the generator. Always remember the motorhome will take some of the available 1600watts to charge the batteries etc. Leaving even less available current.

I did jack but she who must be obeyed decided to keep the new one for the house and use the old one for the camper we have it about ten years still works perfect but the jenny don't like it
As for using the gas to boil kettle we do but as we do mostly wild camping generator back up is handy
