New to motorhoming and Ireland

Hi there
We (2 retirees) have recently bought our first motorhome (Globecar) having camped and hostelled up to now. Coming to Ireland to spend our longest time in the van and are going to try out wildcamping :'( We are travelling from Larne to visit with friends initially but then heading out towards Glenveagh National Park and other areas around there. Any tips on wild camping in Ireland and any tips to ease our way would be gratefully received. :up:

You will get plenty of wild camping spots in the POI or in the reviews,are you traveling all over Ireland.

Don't be afraid to do it especially if it's one of the poi's we have listed. Coming from large you could stop at shannogue house for a night.

Gosh that was quick, thanks for your replies, no we are being cautious and just looking around Co Donegal initially hoping it will be the first of many visits and there looks like loads to do in Co Donegal, we like cycling and walking and would like to visit Glenveagh Castle

Sillysuzy I was born in Co Donegal and it's Gods own county. There's no place like it and be sure to got to Rossnowlagh Beach there's no place like it. Email me if you want more details about Donegal.

There are a number of wild camping spots in Donegal on our list so don't be afraid to ask what we think and recommend

We are coming over this Saturday for two weeks fun and frolics.... :fgrin: .must book first night on Shanogue House sat night.
Is there a pub walking distance?
Then up over the top "giants causeway", Glenveagh Park, down to Rossnowlagh Beach then down a bit more, Balacroy Park?... best of all we don't tend to plan where just point and go...
Give us a wave if you see us... not many people with Van a Bike on a trailer, Uska the Black Labrador Guide Dog reading the map, and Joanne making the reason for Uska to come along.. and of course he does like the Guinness!

Pub is 1.6 mile away - I was told this at the weekend as someone walked and measured it with an app :)

It'll take you 20 - 30 minutes. If there is someone about we'll give you a lift.

If it's this Saturday I'll miss you to share a Guinness but ya'll be looked after :)
