Having never had a chemical flushing camping toilet before, what's this blue fluid I got from ills and where does it go? It's a one with a blue button to flush that does nothing when I press it?

Put the blue in the toilet cassette (down the loo), you don't need very much.

No flush, is the water pump on?

So basically hold the flap open and put a cupful of blue down it?

Yeah can do it that way. Or if you take the cassette out, the filler will have a measuring cup on the end.

Personally I just pour it through the open flap, a cupful is to much. 3 glugs is plenty :D

You will get to know how much to use that suits you, start of with as little as possible.

smell is the best guide as to too much or too little, i.e. strong chemical smell means too much blue and toilet pongs not enough. Its a get to know as you go type of thing.

It works better if you have a small amount of water in the cassette with the blue. A cup full would do.

Just a note. If you have a septic tank it is not advised to empty the contents of your cassette into it if using the blue Thetford liquid. Because of this we use bio tabs from Lidl. Which also has the advantage of being significantly cheaper.

Oooh and wash the cup out well afterwards or you'll be running around with blue lips for the rest of the weekend :bandit:
