While cleaning the new Motorhome I noticed the tax disc displayed.

It is PHG (Private Heavy Goods) and is £165 per year.
HAPPY DAYS !

Aye over 3.5 tonne is cheaper. Mine is 3850, I am sure it was £191 last time but could be wrong, about to find out as it's due.

It's one of those strange government rules, one van at 3.5t costs more to tax than one at 3.8t

You wouldn't want to Jack when you would be quoted for VRT! You could be hit with €10000-€15000 for your Motorhome.

Isn't there a clause with the revenue that if you own the vehicle for at least 12 months before you move to ireland you don't have to pay vrt, but then you cannot sell it for 6 months after clearing in Ireland or you will have to pay the vrt,

I know that was the craic when a few of my friends moved back from the uk and brought the cars back with them,

That is correct John but I am sure you would have to go through hoops to get it. I am just after buying a new tractor and I have to produce two utility bills and a copy of my drivers licence and the Dealer has to produce a copy of his driver licence to register it. If one was thinking of returning to Southern Ireland it would be worth bringing back something valuable. Having said that if you bought a new Motorhome in the uk and wanted to sell it on for a profit, it would have deprecated as much as the VRT if you had to keep it 18 months.

3 pints of stout in my local for €10 :-) :-)

Maurice I have heard that some pubs actually put the price up for rallies and the like,

I know the pubs in Galway got a bit of coverage during race week a few years back for upping the price, not sure if that's still done,

FC a club down south means higher price,

I remember 5 years back when we visited the sister in law when she was working in the uk and her 2nd job was in a social club,
A pint of what ever was something silly like £1.50 , it was a members only club, it cost £1 to join
