Do you think the Stena takeover of Celtic Ferries is a good thing for us consumers

Part of me agrees with jack but I also want to give them a chance to prove me wrong. The two big things about Celtic Link was service and price and if they can maintain both of those then who knows. The big problem which Celtic Link faced was another operator on that route which reduced their portion of business, they may not have had the financial backing to afford another trader on their pitch and they took the best option for them when it came along.

Yep I'm with John on this one, give them a chance.

Celtic Link was Rory.

Rory is still at the end of the phone with the same number, he is still available for queries. Stena have offered Motorhomecraic Subscribed members 10% of all Stena sailings, so it all seems good so far, don't you think?

That statement says more than a lot may have realised.

10% off all Stenaline sailings which includes the Irish Sea crossings, getting any form of discount on those routes is almost impossible

I am with John and Ally on this one give them a chance, I am sure they are keeping an eye on this Forum and are aware of our collective lobbying strength. I know there is economies with scale, but having said that I would not like to see any company having a monopoly.

We hope to book with stena in the next few days. I have been in touch via phone and it is possible to book a 4 bed cabin for 6 however when trying to book on line it will not allow you to book a 4 bed for 6. Could I PLEASE get a number for Rory and book directly with him. Many thanks

Guys I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I wonder how long Rory will be at the end if the phone when Stena get going. It was the same on the Belfast/Birkenhead route before they took over and the guy at the other end of the phone. Aniseed. Sorry for being pessimistic but time will tell.

I know where you are coming from,Jack! Did you ever hear the saying Innocent until proven Guilty.
They have done nothing wrong to us yet, they have even given us a 10% discount on the Irish sea as well as the France crossings. We will have to give them a chance but we will be watching them closely.

Did we ever try the opposition for Discounts?
