Thanks for all the help on the timing belt guys...getting a mechanic to sort it all next week. Now next issue...Planning to head to france for 8 weeks over the summer..The motorhome has two 11.34kg Calor Butane Gas Cylinders. Now have no idea how long this will last...Is there anyway to get them topped up in france? If not is there a better option? Thanks again guys

You wont be able to top them up and you may have problems getting some as you are not a resident in the country, but there are options one of which is a gaslow or gasit system which allows you to fill with lpg at a garage. During the summer you wont be using it for heat only for the fridge if not on hookup on a site and/or a gas bbq, so you may not need more than the two bottles.

I managed 7 weeks on 2 tanks of gas,i only had ehu for 2 nights,so if you have ehu for a few nights you should be ok.as regards filling them in france i havent done it there, but was able to top the gas cylinders up in other countries,

Thats FC and Taylor Thats true..might not need them but would hate to be sparing the BBQ's etc and all the time thinking of saving the gas...would changing the connector and buying a local version be doable as last resort?

I was mostly using aires and you cant BBQ on most of them, so i was only using the gas for the fridge, and the odd bit of cooking in side,

I took 2, 6 kg with me for a four week trip and stayed mostly on campsites with ehu,I had more than enough .Most of the large supermarkets stock the camping gaz tanks and the regulators. They are quite expensive but at least you wont have to do without.

2 of the 11kg tanks should be adequate. What I normally do is ensure I take out any tank that has been in use, and as I have spare bottles,I make sure I have new/full bottles only. You could also take a small 6kg tank for use on the BBQ only- it takes little extra space.
enjoy

The the small 6kg bottle for the bbq is the way to go...save lifting one in and out of the gas storage area..Thanks all for your advice and help.
