Just got my renewal today with Dolman,465e has it gone up, last year was 340e,anyone else getting this jump in renewal.

Ring them and ask why as another lad was saying that his was €400 this year €390 last year and €380 the year before,

turned out they had his policy as open driven even though it wasn't asked for or needed, he is getting a refund and he is hoping to get a refund for the last 2 years also,

ill post here when he gets further news

Good Morning All,
Insurance renewal came through yesterday £350 including Personal Accident and Breakdown Rescue from Adrian Flux.
Slightly more than last year - so shop around time and thanks for all the leads.

Wouldn't it be Vantastic :bandit: if i got enough off this quote to pay the road tax also O-)

Aim high :-)

Have a great May Weekender all - Drive safely and enjoy the criac :-)

Did £255 include Breakdown? UK / Europe?
What of Excess? £100 / £200 and Commuting to and fro?

Best i can get is £193 excluding Breakdown - £280 including with £100 and SDP and Commuting. :-)

As Hessy is over 20 yr old - some breakdown will not cover- :(
Thanks for your input

The breakdown cover which comes with most insurance is usually not really that great. It only provides roadside assistance or transport to the neares repairer. No repatriation is normally included. If traveling in Europe additional breakdown cover with repatriation is a good idea.

Stand alone European breakdown cover is anything from £60 to £160 per year.

The Dolmen policy includes breakdown assistance/recovery, it may give some cover in Europe but definitely not repatriation and as Mark says a separate one is required, I dis that two years ago as i was going to Spain, but not last year as I was just in Ireland with the motorhome.

Thanks you. I do like to clean the van (and I get ridiculed for it on here) :D

If you are referring to the photos in "my garage" are the last van. The one in my signature is the new one. Maybe you were looking through my recent posts and saw the photos of the new one.

An update for the insurance, Dolmen do not cover your commute to work and Hessy attends the workplace which keeps her nimble :fgrin:

So its a drop from £350 to £287 including roadside or o.O £197 excluding Roadside - so nearly paid the roadtax with shopping around :P

Decisions - Decisions
Thanks all

Mark - its the signature photo i am refering to - looks smart 8-) Gotto wear Shades!!

I have been insured with Dolmen for around eight years,im happy enough with the cost £255,out of the eight years I have had problems with their renewal process three times,I paid my premium two weeks ago over the counter and guess what..It has happened again,I just checked the Motor Insurance Database and it says I am not insured. Not a happy camper.
