Nice idea.
As for me would prefer a 50% reduction on the ferry prices,I expect they could do this for at least a 5000 cars for much less cost and more impact,or better still do one of the "Sun" holiday promotion deals car and Caravan/Motorhome for a week including ferry for £100.
Bet a lot more people would see that

It is the most common answer I get when I tell people that we are going to Ireland without exception they say it is the cost of getting there, they can go to France where they tell me the booze and diesel is cheaper, stay on a all singing and dancing camp site for a couple of weeks for LESS than the ferry fare to Ireland

The ironic thing about the advert is that it will only be shown in Northern Ireland.

That makes it a even bigger waste of money then, what the h**ls the point, I thought it was to generate Tourist income

Its one of little known things which we got through the good friday agreement aka the peace process, Ireland has to be promoted as a whole and as such the Northern Ireland Tourist Board can not as part of that agreement promote Northern Ireland, outside of Northern Ireland. Bord Failte will promote tourism to Ireland both North & South, but neither can do their own, on their own. Hope that makes sense

Personally I think its a good advert, but it would have been money better spent for Ireland as a whole and not for a restricted audience, after all Liam Neeson is now a global brand.

Nothing is parochial any more Liam Nelson has a huge Facebook fan club that would be interested in all of the activities he would be involved in so therefore a lot of people outside Ireland would get to know of this promotion

It's a typical civil service thing, one dept doesn't want to share with another which leads to wasted opportunity and money.
