I just signed up with safe nights Ireland - it looks interesting and they have a map/list of places that you can park up for €10 /night .
We are off to a wedding on the June weekend in Bantry and the Bantry bay hotel Is on the list of locations and is where we plan to stay.. Not bad for €10 per night ..

I was a member and I'm not going to waste my €12.50 to join when as said earlier most are free anyway,

Sounded good at the time but most of the locations you call give an awkward vibe, or that's what I got anyway, did anybody else get this?

When I first started out with the mh I was tempted but asked questions about places on their list to look at a sample of what they were offering and with the lack of response I thought why pay for someone who won't help convince me it's the best thing ever.

We joined SNI few years ago, any place i phoned, they were "strange" on the phone, only ended up using one place near mallow which i reckon we could have stayed for free. Another place in killarney, the fella was very abrupt, they had sold the property and SNI had not taken their names off it. By all accounts the fella that set it up would live in ur ear! a limerick man, so guess he is laughing at everyone when he gets his euro yearly. :'(

I joined SNI for a few years and enjoyed some of their locations, a farm, a private house with a very large concrete yard and some other out of the way places places. One of my main concerns was the fact that the pins on the locations map were in the wrong place which meant it was useless to look up and plan a place to stay. It could have developed into something very good but it didn't. Then I found Motorhome Craic and life has not been the same since.

I also was a member for a couple of years. during that time I asked for accurate info on the locations but also for some site description, even a short and simple but none was forthcoming so I also dropped my sub.

I was a surprised not to be asked to renew my sub as I had expected to have had an opportunity to restate my requests.

They probably were aware of their own misgivings and knew better than to communicate with you.

The only time they have come on here was. When they wanted to promote a so called event.
There has been nothing since.

You're probably right Mark but surely the only sensible move is to address the issues and try to build up membership not do nothing and loose them. Madness seeing as they were getting some publicity.

No Whippy it doesn't offend in any way. I like a guy who tells it as it is. I do the same and believe me it has got me into trouble at times.

My view is they are getting the wet behind the ears first timers and visitors to Ireland so a constant supply of fresh meat.

He does a lot of charity work alright,

Personally I got the bad vibes when I would phone a location so for me it's not happening,

Frank him self I think is a lover of the open road and value for money,

I think you hit the nail on the head John. I was joined for two years and only used one location, a pub car park in Ballyconnell, and the owner didn't give a dam if I was joined Sni or not. Motorhomecraic is much better value! Having said that I think the comment about him living in your ear is unfair, he had a good idea and put a lot of work into it but I think it has outlived it's sell by date now.
