We have no wifi for the last eight days since the storm, poles and cables down every place. I am driving over cables on the road and under cables tied to trees every day going to work and haven't seen a single pole replaced or even a Eircom van on the road. The ESB on the other hand are doing Trojan work day and night, I even met a Northern Ireland Electric Land Rover on a back road near where I work this morning.

Not sure about Eircom, but it was on the news here that NIE were sending down a load of trucks and men to help out.

NIE/ESB are both part of the same group of companies, and have been for some time now

Eircom changed the whole layout of their email without telling anyone they caused chaos as the new layout deleted the basic version they decided to do this on the day of the storm and closed the helplines the only contact was through Facebook? After a few days they put the basic version back up again without explanation they are the type of organization that expects you should know what they are doing without explanation in other words work it out for yourself.
Don't ring them as it is ten minutes to go through the menu and then liste to their music for thirty minutes or so and then get cut off great service indeed

Now guys don't get too excited about the poles. I was blamed for FCC problem but it would take a 2CV months to get to you're neck of the woods.

I wouldn't let Eircom any where near my house, after the hassle I had with one of there so called engineer's many years ago. After many years of crackling on the phone, and he saying the problem was inside the house, I took the phone connect outside on to pole still crackling.

Contacted Digeweb (satellite phone and broadband) and never looked back,

Yes. Well.. Don't get me started about Eircom.
The worst company in the world. Left hand doesn't have a clue what the right hand is doing. :(

It will be two weeks tomorrow since the storm, we still have no phone or wifi working, all the cables and poles are still down locally, a third world country would have better service. Eircom is an absolute disgrace, how are people expected to conduct business with this carry on. Rant over!

Hope they sort it soon you are missed.

I know what I went through with the internet being out a few weeks back, but have you thought about a mifi from three to keep you up to date while waiting for emir com to do something. Remember to deduct the time you have been cut off from the next bill.

We are stuck in a new contract with Vodafone, But Eircom are suppose to maintains the the phone lines.
I have a Meteor hot spot thingy belonging to my daughter and tonight is the first time that worked ok, it is a bit slow allright but fine. How do you deduct the time you have been cut off when you pay by Direct Debit?

Stop the DD and tell them you want a refund for the number of weeks which you have had no service.

In all fairness our contract is with Vodafone, not Eircom. our Mobiles are also with Vodafone and the coverage here is crap and when we complained they are offering some kind of booster for free.

Hi pat ,you signed a contract for a service ,they can't supply the service, they break the contract and service , contract over, tell them that and it will put pressure on Vodafone to put pressure. On eircom, give them till Friday ,tell them you are going to digiweb. Hope this helps worked for me.

No. The Phone is back too, they only joined the broken wires with link wires, I am waiting to see what happens when we get heavy rain! That's all they are doing, tempory fixes.
