Was about to write a letter to the CEO of Curry's after being treated badly in one of their shops today.

Then I thought better of it, why waste the time, I walked out and refused to give them any money so they lost a sale. Two rude staff in succession, item not in stock - choose another item to be told it's not in stock either.

But the best bit! I could order it and wait THREE WEEKS on it being delivered or pay a further £18 to get it within 14 days! so that's two weeks then......

Why I bothered I don't know, I should know by now that ordering it online is much easier for everyone involved and we don't have to listen to some jumped up tw*t in a suit thinking he/she knows the workings of a space ship.

It won't definitely be ordered from Curry's.

Customer service in this country sucks.

Now ordered online (not from curry's) and will be here tomorrow.

I find Curry,s the same here as well, if they haven,t it in stock they just walk away from you as if you shouldn,t be there. I was looking for a new printer 3 weeks ago as my old one gave up the ghost went to Curry,s to buy a new one the same as the one I had. I was told the one I had was out of the "ark"and they never had that make in the shop ,it was bought in Curry,s 18 months ago. When I told him that he laughed and walked away. I did the same Ally I bought of the internet and cheaper too.

Yup same thing, they were not interested in the slightest, no smile, no hello - feck all! then went on to serve another customer and left me standing.

My nephew got a summer job in the Bangor branch last year but left after a few weeks.

He said the only question the manager ever asked (about 15 times a day) was, how many insurance policies have you sold?
Their main margin is made selling the policies.

He refused to sell the policies and even told customers not to take it as it was all Currys were interested in.

I rarely buy from them and when I do the first thing I say to the mcdonalds reject is if you mention insurance policies you can shove the sale and I will walk, needless to say I walk out after telling them told you so. Don't even think of trying to buy a part for a pc from pcworld either, they don't stock simple things like sata cables

I find the usa a great place to shop online they are very polite and really go to great lengths to make sure you are making the correct purchase to suit your needs I was in halfords looking to purchase a front number plate for the camper van to be told I would need to show proof of ownership before they could make one even though I showed them receipts of previous purchases in their store but no joy

Yeah apparently it's law now that they have to see proof of ownership. Funny how one can go on line and buy as many number plates as they want.

Think of others

I like most people now buy a lot of stuff on line and mostly because it is easier but more likely because it is cheaper.

There are a lot of people who do not or indeed cannot use the internet and as Currys don't have any competition anymore they can and do get away with c--p service.
If however if we do not complain we are infact endorsing their bad service and for me it feels good when I have had a dam good moan either on line or via letter.
Where we all live there are many older people who like to see before they buy so spend a bit of time having a polite rant if not to improve the service for them to make you feel better.
Also you may be surprised for example I was last week when I had a comment or two to make to EUROPARTS about a 12v socket which cost me GBP3.97 and they sent be a full valet kit worth nearly GBP30 with an apology

A result

David

That is true. I worked for a local retailer who specialised in outdoor clothing and equipment. When we went online I ended up running that end of things. If someone made a mistake with a dispatch for an item under about £10 we usually told the customer to keep it and we sent the correct item too. It was cheaper than paying more postage back to the customer.

In the case of Curry's it is unlikely to have much effect as they have got too big.

I worked a few weeks for PC World one Christmas, it was the same as Curry's (same group), sell sell sell insurance. Meetings in the morning how much insurance was sold the day before. Was offered full time employment but left after Christmas. They knew as much about PC's as I did about insurance.

It sorta pays to complain.
On Wednesday I had to collect furniture from Lisburn in the van which I had bought on Tuesday and it wouldn't fit in the car. Upon leaving Omagh I immediately met a delivery van with the name of the outlet I had purchased from. When I went to collect the furniture I asked the manager if they delivered to omagh to be told that they do once a week for twenty quid an item. He was disgusted that the sales staff had not told me and when I told him that I used 60.00 petrol to get up, he gave me 20.00 cash, 20.00 voucher and free 20.00 delivery on my next item. The furniture was in a sale and was 200.00 cheaper than locally.
Feeling better I decided it was time to eat and went to Benny and Jerrys at Sprucefield. Waited 15 mins for a table, but 10.95 for 3 courses and unlimited refill on soft drinks seemed reasonably . 10 mins at the table and then drinks order taken, 15 mins later food order taken, 5 mins later drink arrives, people arriving later than us already getting food, point this out to pleasant hard working staff, one starter arrives cold and burnt, finished complain, other two starters come also cold. Niece remarks that one main course has been sitting on servery for 10 mins, a second main is added and sits for 5 minutes and finally the third arrives and is thrown on our table, I ask for vinegar and don't get it. Food cold and tasteless. Suddenly I hear the banging of cutlery on the table and assume it's kids but turn round to see a table full of adults, who are also pissed off with the service. Uneaten plates removed and waitress say 2 desserts to follow, I correct that we ordered 3 and ask for a refill drink, which never came. Dessert arrives, cinnamon waffle and ice cream ,which couldn't be broken with a spoon as I obviously had been in the microwave too long. I called the waitress showed her the waffle, expressed my disgust at the quality of food and service and explained that I did not want to pay but if I had to what was their refund policy upon contacting head office. She returned to say the bill had been cancelled. Excuse was our waitress had gone off shift soon after taking our order. It was obviously heavily understaffed.
However I wasted 1 1/2 hours there and felt physically sick afterwards, and because of the delay had to drive home at rush hour.
I still have sent a letter of complaint to their head office as their trip advisor review is littered with similar complaints. See how it goes.

I have heard of very few people who have got a decent meal there, but with the number of cars parked outside it nightly there are those that have still to be put off or they have had a good experience and are back for more!

You could have waited until the next exit on the roundabout and got a gourmet burger at mcdonalds and been served and eaten it in 5 minutes flat

Mc Donalds was my plan FC but I gave in to both my travel companions.
Yes the car park was full but speaking to others leaving they wouldn't be back. The location is excellent as they have west travelling folk and those heading for the south with little options only Mc Ds. However, although the setting, the facility and menu appears right the consistency provided is not there yet. They are currently looking for planning in the old Prentice garage in Omagh, and cannot rely on passing trade to support them if they cannot be consistent to establish a local following.

There is also the restaurant at the premier inn approx 300 yards towards Lisburn, the cafe and champagne/wine bar in Marks & Spencer as well as the cafe in Sainsurys across the road from McDonalds. Then all the bars etc in Hillsborough or off the various junctions on the M1 (Just for future reference, and I know this because )

My letter to CEO at Curry's has been sent, it has been annoying me the last few days the way I was treated and they won't change if they get away with it.
