New visitor to Ireland

We are visiting your Country for the first time intending to stay for a couple of months from May to July.

Any general advice, including info re mobile/ internet would be much appreciated.

We are attending a 4 day show at Royal Dublin Society in June and despite 3 emails I cannot get any reply from them about parking facilities for our motorhome! We will need to find a suitable caravan site within easy reach of RDS with good public transport in case we cannot park at RDS.

We also hope to attend at least one of your rallies as well as the Motorcaravanners Club Annual Rally at Balmoral Park Lisburn during our stay.

Many thanks

I am sure someone can help reference parking nearest RDS.

On the mobile/internet side of things if you happen to be with Three they have just done away with Roaming charges in Ireland for UK users.

The RDS has some carparks on site after that its on street parking (meters ) your best option is to stay on Howth pier ( North of Dublin ) and get the DART to Landstown Road Station and walk to RDS
Google this info and you will get a clearer picture . There are no campsites with direct links to RDS The City campsites are Rush (northside )and Camac Valley (Southside )

Or what about staying at the Aire in Greystones and getting the Dart which would be a lot closer.

Hi

As a visitor to Ireland myself unless Tesco Ireland have changed their charges in 2014 I found it best to use this system. I bought a cheap phone from them (it was E9.99 and the sim card with E20 top lasted me the month easy and the calls back to the UK were only 1 cent and internet was cheap and I didn't have to worry about roaming charges

Safe nights Ireland has been discussed on this forum many times and the conclusion from most who have paid for it is stay away. Not worth the money.

As has been said before Motorhome Craic have a great list of stopovers available and for a very modest subscription fee. As Ally said Three do a great deal in UK/Ireland which has no roaming charges

We Stayed in Camac Valley last summer and used public transport to get into Dublin City centre
www.camacvalley.com

It is a well run site - safe clean with great pitches. It is located right next to Corcaigh Park with is a nice park for walks / cycling.
I would return to Camac Valley and would recommend it.
