Info is still a little basic.
No real incentive to join.

I really was interested in this but have yet to be convinced.

Yes Dave..
A pity really.

I see they have a forum now too. Maybe their members will start posting and we will see how good it is.
I think there is plenty of potential for the idea but as I have said before, I can't see any of their listed venues turning you away of you are not a member.

Well I have contacted them twice now and still no reply. Don't know how they expect to succeed.

I have been a member of Safe Nights since last year, the new website is great, they have website links to the majority of their locations, with some beautiful working Farmhouse B&B on their books, used a good few of them last year. New website well worth a visit

Hi Nollig. Welcome to the craic.

Can you tell me if you have been asked for your sni membership on arrival at any of these locations?

Most places like pub etc allow stopovers anyway.

Regretably the new website does not allow access to the locations without registration for £12.

Not wishing to pay that to see if it is worth joining!!

We joined last year and had some great nights at sni sites. Particularly good for us with a family as it gives a bit of peace of mind compared to wild camping sometimes and the lisst of sites provided by them allows us to plan trips. And most of these sites are open all year as opposed to campsites which have limited opening and makes travelling 'out of season' difficult. Hope its a success and people give it a try.

Thanks Kelper Camper.

Many of the locations are places other people use for no charge and I was wondering how that works

Are they still free with the sni membership?

I think it is a good idea and would join if I could see the value in it.

Hi Mark

Not sure about how that works. Weve found some places charge whilst others dont. But couldnt say whether its created a change in charging or not.

As i say, from a travelling with family perspective, its the relative safety (compared to wild camping - think the occassional problems highlighted in the media not so long ago), the option for all year travel, and the availibility of info on 'sites' which makes it useful to us.

Having said that im guessing it'll take a while to settle down but i think the concpet is good and id like to see it work.

Having just read all the posts & replies on SNI, I'm left with the felling of being asked to buy a product you can't see until you pay for it. If its not suitable its to late.

Is there many spots that are B&B's/ Farmhouses/ a combination of both? We also have a young family, and we have been tempted by SNI since we first read about it for overnight stops. However, we don't deem a pub or hotel car park suitable for us with the children. How's it gone with children? Thanks
