I feel for all those who have flooded (having flooded twice) it is a horrible horrible experience and the affects on your home go on for years as the paint on the walls comes off for years after the insurance close your claim and then you don't get insurance again and still pay a premium. My heart goes out to all those who are surveying the damage today, tomorrow and for years to come.

I say at least if I flood again I can live in the MH.

More by luck when I bought this house it is up a slight hill although bad again this year we have always been above the water but have friends who live less than a mile away who have been flooded more than once. As well as the problems keep coming back they cannot sell even though his job has taken them from the area.

Paddy the pensioner (the paddy that was in athlone) got flooded in the big flood a few back,

The MH was parked at the back of the house and if he had driven it out the gate the road was lower than the driveway so it would defiantly got damaged,
He managed to get a few high lift jacks and put concrete blocks under the tyres and that saved the MH from any water,

The house was not so lucky with a foot of water inside, all sorted now but it took a long time to get all sorted,

So make sure your MH is safe in a situation like that,

Will it ever end Pat! Scary heading cross country to Boherbue in the morning I hope I don't find too many floods. Stay safe, awful for farming folk. Some areas around here have no electricity - it is hard. Paul's house flooded but our home here so far so good it is holding.

It's moving north. Bangor has high wind and heavy rain at present. Some coastal roads closed or washed away.

Has anybody tried to explain why this is happening.
In 2012 they said that this was the worst weather for 100 years and would not happen again for another 100 years but the MET office says this is worst and only getting even worst with no let up
Things look bad. we even had Prince Charles in Wellies and waterproofs traveling through the floods on the back of a tractor tailor sitting on a garden bench down here.
The pictures show how bad we are all having to suffer only good thing for me is that we have got our electric back on after loosing it last night.

Well off to find my dustbin now last seen heading down the road having gonr through the gap left that was once my fence.

Got to keep smiling or

David

They tried to blame the bad snow etc last year on the gulf stream moving so I dont know what they are going to blame it on this year.

I think the govt. has arranged it. Budget day is not far off and it allows them to play the global warming card again and raise tax on diesel and petrol

Both Paul and I had to stay home from work today on flood alert as my back garden was completely submerged, it is slowly abating but I am sick of holding my breath. Paul's ground floor is in need of gutting and the tenants are gone! I am glad I am off in MH for the weekend and no chance of flooding in The Glen.
