Oh my I will be impressed if every one starts calling me Siobhán with a fada! Next thing you guys will be addressing me as Ms. Siobhán.
When I lived in the UK they could not pronounce my name so referred to me as the little Irish nurse. I also had my name called out once pronounced as sioban the bh never mind the fada gets people every time.

Siobhan I know you are Apple but when I press the alt key with the letter I get this å which is not right. Ive tried every combination with no success.

I was calling a class register today in a cover class, and called out Odhran. Pupil replied its not Odhran, it Owen. Another teacher who was in the room overheard and apologised as he too had been calling him Odhran for a while. I said how on earth does Odhran be pronounced Owen, and the little prat replied that his name is Odhran as pronounced but he doesn't like his name and wants to be called Owen.

When I worked in a paed ward in the UK a mother came in said her daughters name was Siobhán and I smiled and wrote the name on the acrd that we place above the bed/cot. The mother looked at me like I had ten heads when I wrote it and said no her name is CHEVON. I did not have the heart to say anything when she continued to call me 'nurse' even though my name badge was clearly visible.
