Hi Craicers
We are of for a wee one nighter tonight, thinking about the Auld House, Moneyrea. Anybody been, I take it there is a big car park at the back, we could avail of the early bird menu. Food looks good on their website. Then a quiet evening tuning & playing the guitar after a long break due to waitng for a sliced finger to heal. Finally fully functional Flanagan fret fingers folks.
( couldn't fit anymore f words in there!)
 :D :-)

Yes it has a sizeable car park and the food is modestly priced and of a reasonable standard. When in the area visit Island Hill in Comber and Whiterock, both also have large car parks.

We went to the Auld House, the pub looks lovely but Emily done a " face" because it was very open, no view, & you could be seen from the busy road which passes it, so we are now in Strangford, lovely wee spot 100 yes from the Cuan, looking at the Ferry with all it's lights. Nice stopover for 2 or 3 vans. We have used it before, must get it on the poi map.
She's happy now thank god!!!!

The Cuan serves good food and you'll get a good pint there. We nip around to it from Killyleagh quite often and enjoy it. Enjoy. Are you in the car park?

Jack we go as if you are about to get on the ferry then turn right past the toilets then there is a space along the other ferry landing spot.
FC, I don't need a picture of the " face" but I'm sure It's pretty similar to SWMBO's.
What about us men posting our nearest & dearest's " face" when they are not happy but don't say anything? Or am I asking for trouble?
:( :'( O-) :D

Anyway!
We had a lovely meal at the Cuan;
G&T, bucket of slack ( Guinness)
Shared a bowl of creamy garlicky mussels & fresh wheaten bread
Emily had local Pinkertons thick gammon slices, lovely gravy, broccoli, champ & a roastie spud
I had, skin on fresh cod, covered half the plate, with a pesto sauce, champ etc as above.
Bottle of Chilean red wine.
Couldn't face a dessert tonight maybe tomorrow with a coffee!
All in for £55, not bad, we are back in the wagon, guitar tuned, both very dozy, early nite I think.
  =)

John and Emily I knew you wouldn't be disappointed as it's a great wee place and very reasonable. I wasn't aware you could park where you are so I must keep that in mind as it's not far from us in Killyleagh. I love the atmosphere of the place although they may not have been that busy on a Tuesday night.

There was 3 other tables dining, nice jazzy blues radio channel on, quite relaxing. One of the other tables was a local priest & friend. Me & Emily had a good laugh at the talk about " the face" & will post her re- enactment when I work out how to do it again!
