Hi all, still working on camper. Drying out ceiling and tackling the wheelarches.
Wondering if anyone knows a place around dublin that might let me use their pit for few hours( for a few quid) wanna give the underside a tidy, two mates have garages , but of course camper is 6" too high to fit in the door.
Got price for vrt today €266, doesn't seem too bad I suppose.

Would have thought the VRT would have been more.

VRT is a lottery with as others have stated the amount being made up by someone who just thinks of a number

There must be some guidelines for it.

There is: how close are we to the VRT contribution to the national debt this month. :D

Mitch,

What are you planning on using for the new ceiling? I've been playing with the thought of replacing ours but haven't found a supplier for the ceiling liner yet. I've seen folks to use regular 6mm WPB ply and paint it, but I'm not sure that's the direction I want to go. I'd prefer ply backed with embossed vinyl or soft felt...

Consider hessian for the ceiling, gives a nice finish and you can get good quality wide stuff for a reasonable price. What ever you use make sure the glue you stick it on with is high temperature costs a little more but it works.

As fars as I know there's a special glue for this. I saw it at the show at the NEC last year but I can't remember its name. I think it's made around Newry as far as I can remember.

You must be thinking of CT1 which has a mastic and a sealent version. Michelinman sells it so you could ask him about it

Hi, I would just use beauty board, Mdf with plastic white coating on one side, about €15 8x4 sheet , larrys DIY dublin and he will cut to size.
Mine has no glue. It's stapled all around sides, skylight and interior light hold it centered .
Think vrt was based on the fact that I took off the whole box on the back and just brought the chassis

As Mitch's Motorhome is over 10 years old it has to be tested every year!
