Anyone know where I could get a Shunhong Sealed Lead Acid Battery 6-FM-12? It has a plus connexion at one end and a neg connection at the other. Its for a Powerpack. I've tried the internet etc with no success. its 12v 12AH/20Hr which apparently is the important bit.

The problem with that one is both connectors are at the same end. I need one at each end. That one I could not connect the plus link.

I asked about voltage as it had bot a 6 at the start and 12 at the end so it wasn't clear, there is also uk batteries on the raven hill road. When you ring either Batyre or UK Batteries have a note of the dimensions and which side has which terminal to hand.

It looks very like a 12v battery that I have in a solar electric fence! so a farm supply shop might be worth a visit.

That's an interesting one Pat. There's a farm place in Antrim. That's great I've got lots of leads now.

Also used in commercial fire alarm systems and burglar alarms, so electrical wholesalers will stock them.

I tried 3 places today but no success on the battery front. Could get batteries ok but the terminals are at one end. I need a terminal at each end. I'll just keep trying. I've seen it on the net in Japan so I've sent a email.

Can you not extend one of the cables to suit the Battery you found, Jack.

No Pat it's impossible to do that unfortunately. I looked into doing that but was advised against it.

Don't be surprised if the new battery is more expensive than the original purchase price of the booster pack.

Yeah don't worry I'm a Donegal man and that certainly won't happen. I hate dumping stuff if a replacement can be found.

What are the dimensions of the battery?
Motobatt do batteries for motorcycles that have changeable terminals , easy enough to fix a spade terminal in place.
The size and shape will be the crucial thing as it must fit into a specific space inside the powerpack.

I bought mine from George Roycroft in Skibbereen, He is Southcoast Motorcycles but I would think they should be widely available from Bike dealers nationwide.
They are good batteries, as good as Odyssey in my opinion.

Exactly or else I'll dump the whole thing in a skip and buy another one. I hate disposing of something that can be repaired.

Lots of things are designed to price rather than durability so that you buy another rather than repair

Try these lads>> http://www.europower.ie/

Got a battery for a 12v booster pack from them last year. Perfect fit for the housing and terminals at either side. Give them a shout with your dimensions, they told me they sell a good few for power packs. Good lads for leisure batteries too.
