Copperman what you describe is the way that this heater works, initially when you switch the fan on the heat disappears from the heater but it takes about 5minutes before you feel any significant heat at the outlets.
After that the heat will be spread evenly throughout the van and no outlet will feel as warm as the initial heater but the van will heat more evenly.

Turn on heater and fan,
Walk away from van and check it after 15 mins, see if all is ok,

I went through a week of head wrecking with a friend of mine on the phone, he had no patience and expected heat straight away,
and in the end everything was working as it should,

Hope this helps

Yep what they said :)

You need to give it time, blown air feels a lot cooler than convected air.

Sometimes the pipes come away from the truma heater unit which will give a lot of heat around the heater but none at the outlets.
