Front Bike Rack

Good Morning All - hope you are well this sharp morning!
Have anyone searched the possibility of a Bike Loading Rack for the front of the RV's - I have seen them on the Gogglebox - "Independence Day" for example with the gorgeous 1980's Honda 125 on the front of the yoke.
I thought sticking one of these on would prevent the Hymer losing weight from the drive wheels - like a counterbalance - especially when fully loaded up and going up steel hills at slow speeds!!!
Are they Legal as long as they don't cover the lights?
Where would you get one? Any one have one?

I think you better check with your insurance company first as I was told they are illegal and will invalidate your insurance if you have an accident.

I don't think I've ever seen a front mounted motorbike over here. In the US, yes, but not in Ireland.

Nice little bike too. Looks like an SS90 and I wouldn't mind having one of those.

(SS = Super Sport  )

As jack said, don't think they are legal something to do with eu rules on crash protection for pedestrians

Yes full bull bars are illegal and a bars are frowned upon, don't think you would have a chance with handle bars sticking out and there is the petrol tank also

I was not allowed to fit a bull bar to my Land rover Discovery. I might when I get a chance ask my insurance broker.

Nudge bars are quite common and on near enough all vans/jeeps/ pickups?

Perhaps good to prevent Carflies???

I found that on weighing my van with all the usual kit for 3-4 weeks away that I was close to the axle limit on the front but still had loads of capacity on the rear. Very little gear is carried near the front. As with most vans the bulk of the margin is over the rear axle so I would not have the option to carry at the front bumper, although I think the reasons others have given are likely to be paramount.

Don't know if any of you subscribe to RV upgrades on FB , it's not really helpful in the real sense, but it's bloody entertaining - some of the pics they post of amazing rigs and gear are almost beyond belief, one of tonight's pics was a front mounted Barbeque - huge yoke and right below the drivers dash. Tried to find a pic there to post for you jack but can't on the phone. I'll try grab it tomorrow!

If your 4 wheel Drive is before 2003 you can fit a rubber nudge bar but not a steel one.
