Bit of help please

 ·
Posted: 09.01.2014  ·  #1
Hi all, my first camper, 1988 fiat/talbot 2.5 diesel coachbuilt. Needs a bit of work.
Started by getting cooker and interior heater working.
I got the water heater to fire up, but no water when i turn on tap, looked everywhere for a water pump??? cant find it.
Has a cf8 zig unit fitted. not sure about the wiring, i downloaded the manual, but no lights on panel.
I dont have a leisure battery fitted at the moment. I started engine and tried various combinations of switches on unit, but nothing.

Is there anyone about the dublin area that might have an hour to spare, Could maybe point me in the right direction. Might be easier while i have the ceiling panel removed to just rewire the zig unit?
Thanks for any help
Mitch

The power for the panel comes from the Leisure battery I would imagine.

I would think so too.
Perhaps if you could connect any 12v battery (even a car one) just to see how the panel performs then.

Yeah, the water pump is 12v so you'd need the leisure battery connected.

Your pump definitely runs off leisure battery.

pump and cabin lights runs off your leisure battery, your pump should be located either in your clean water tank or down below the bottom level of it,,

I have a notion that your pump may be in the bottom of your wardrobe, thats where mine was when i had a talbot, and as others have said, stick some sort of 12v battery in and see what you have then.

Thanks for all the info, everyone was bang on. Pump is in tank, found small switch at sink, once I connected a leisure battery pump worked and then gas water heater worked. Same with interior lights.
Happy happy.
Have everything working now. Just need to test fridge.
Pulled down ceiling panel and found leak both sides of skylight, reseated it and gonna let timber dry out with panel off.
Now bodywork is a different story. Roof seems ok and walls. Cab area not great, sills, bottom of doors, scuttle panel.
Found two doors and new sills, arches and scuttle on ebay. Should be interesting 2 weeks with the welder out.
Will get some pics of the work.
Hope to be out and about feb sometime
Thanks for all the help

How does one wind up someone? Are we not all very serious and passionate about our hobby?
