Who has put on a pile of weight through over indulgence during the Christmas period and who is now on a diet.

I know I have and have now started a healthy eating regime to try and shed a few stone

Take it easy FC a few stone? Focus on one stone at a time and you'll be encouraged.

Or was it your weight that did it

Jack, the doctor told me some time ago I need to shed a lot of weight, namely a third of my body weight. I romptly took the information on board while having a Chinese banquet for lunch , however I am fed up having to keep buying bigger clothes so time to put the brakes on.

But I plan to lose it all again over the next few weeks.

Yeah, I'm part of this exclusive group too. I recently found the courage to step up on the scales and I wasn't too impressed with the numbers! I decided to change my routine & mind-set by taking a 5km walk each day and having smaller healthier meals...

Its hard, but I've lost 5kg so far and I'm happy with the progress. Please God I'll stay on track!

Guys, have you checked your scales are weighing correctly? It might be worth doing so to make sure.

My Favourite tip and it works for me, don't eat anything at all after dinner. I usually got for don't eat anything after 6pm but I know that's impossible for some.

Works for me :D

If there's one for weight loss why not one for weight gain? Although it's such a boring topic I would have thought better not to bother.

For me I'm trying the "eat less - move more" principal, but I'm only 2 weeks into this misery so far so I'm not an expert by any means!

What I do know is that a pint of Carlsberg = 227 calories! :'( :'(

This is were everyone get's it wrong!

Carlsberg may = 227 Calories but they are what is known as GOOD calories, like good cholesterol. The Carlsberg diet is well known, 10 carlsberg a day and no food, just the right amount of good caleroies to keep you going but without adding any weight.

Have you ever seen a fat alcoholic? I rest my case.

Yeah it's excellent and the food is very good and tasty with few calories. It's the wine that does the damage.

Guy's the key to a healthy weight I am told is portion size and exercise!
To lose weight you need to eat less than you consume!
Believe it or not if you are well fat you need to eat more than a normal size person to sustain it!
Eat hot spicy food, drink water at least a point before each meal, start the morning with cooling boiled water with lemon and drink loads of water! Often the brain sends out the signal that you are hungry when actually you are thirsty (not wine or beer)

You have to go into this with the right frame of mind.
I have had my annual MOT at the Docs this week BP OK col OK no bits falling off Weight same as last year but as they tell me every year you could do with loosing 2 Stone (no idea what that is in KGs)
Well I look at it this way nothing has gone wrong or got worse since last time and I am too tight to waste money on new clothes when those I have must have at least another 5 years wear in them so loosing weight would be bad for my health
Did loose weight some years ago (well I was at least 3 Stone heavier than I am now and still at work) and boy was I a bad tempered bugger. It was around the time of Terry Wogan with his TOGs well the family set me up with my own club called COG (Cantankerous Old Git)
So does any one wish to belong you could set up ICOGs or MCCogs perhaps make it world wide

Oh re the booze whiskey and ice doesn't count does it as it is mostly water.
