Philip (Winkie) rung me tonight and gave me this information Annalong. Cheers Winkie.

It is currently closed as the barriers had rusted closed, they have just installed new barriers and are now waiting on the electrician installing the EHU points. It will have EHU which will be token operated - to be decided where the tokens will be available from.

They plan to have it open by Febuary 2014.

That's good news. We haven't stayed there before but we love the area and will give that a try next year deffo. Roll on winters end! Bears have the right idea, dark nights are tiring, 4pm all of a sudden feels late when it gets dark.  =)

Last I heard was the Aire was closed due to vandalism.

If only councils would learn that motorhomes don't need fancy facilities and electric for every vehicle parked at an Aire.

I don't think there is a cost apart from the tokens if you need them.

We stayed in the Aire at Annalong at the weekend its a great location cost is £2 per token which you purchase at the Harbour Inn which is just along the coastal path less than 5 minutes walk, this gets you 80 litres of water and loads of electric sorry cant remember exactly how much electric but we were plugged in Friday to Sunday and only used that one token. Food nearby at the Harbour Inn is excellent also the local chippy The Gallery is outstanding and very reasonable priced. This is a lovely locaton close to the sea especially if you like walking or hiking I cannot say if its quiet or not because this weekend our motobike club was running its annual rally in the Harbour Bar and thats why we stayed so it was definately not as quiet as usual am sure !

How long is the £2 charge for?

That's a shame Ally we have stayed there and it was lovely. I hope this doesn't discourage other Councils from opening Aires. It's a pity there was no camera and these thugs caught and dealt with severely which might deter others.

It is a shame that decent law abiding people have to change their lifestyles to suit what are essentially scum bags. This is unfortantly the modern world in which we live.
So sorry Ally to here about your incident.

Derek. 🇧🇭 🇧🇭

Given the recent positive reviews on the app, we stayed in Annalong Aire last night (Thursday) Surprised there was no signage apart from a poster wrapped around one of the lampposts. One other van when we arrived at 9.30pm. Some kids arrived in a car about 10 to eat their pizzas ( picked up the boxes next morning) and parked in the Aire. Think a manual barrier would solve that problem. Bit noisy but left at 11. Very peaceful night and a good walk along the coastal path in the morning.
