Number of Motorhomes in Ireland

Evening all,

I am doing a piece of research and would value any information members might have about the number of motorhomes there are in Ireland.

I am happy to accept figures for the whole island or either jurisdiction if available.

Links to sites other than e-c-f.org which I already know about, would be welcome.

No guesses please, not even educated ones. :D

Useful idea, fat controller. I may well follow that line although I wonder if we are all just registered as Private/light goods.

They may not state what exactly they are but they have the make listed so could supply some information, however my v5 states renault as the maker what does everyone else state

Should be awful easy to find out the number in the ROI as there is a Motor Caravan motor tax rate. Whether one can get that number out of the guys in Shannon in another matter entirely :-/

Davy,

Don't know how recent this is or if it even covers NI, but it was posted recently on the MCC facebook page.

Apparently those figure only cover the UK not Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK though? or do you mean GB?

Thanks for that Ally, now you know why I wanted the info.

The background map shows N. Ireland, but I am not too concerned about total accuracy. Can't imagine our neck of the woods will alter the figures too much.

Ally I know where you are coming from. Apparently Swansea only record the figures for the mainland. NI figures however are supposed to be in Coleraine. I bought the C6 in the UK mainland and it almost seems to me that it is another country from us all the stuff I've got to go through.

Aye I know what it used to be like importing classic cars from the UK to the UK! madness

All going to be different soon, Coleraine DVLNI is being moved to Swansea DVLA and all the jobs at Coleraine and at County Hall tax offices will be lost.

I believe UK are bringing in a system of no tax disc displayed and monthly direct debit for tax. This would be excellent as I tax 4 vehicles generally for continual six months at a time but struggle to balance financially in splitting them equally throughout the year
