Just had a nice trip to Cherbourg, but learned not to be one of the first four "vans" to board.
They had four of us reverse down a ramp below the main lorry deck - level 3. The they lowered the floor of deck 3 down over the vans.
When we left we had to wait for all the lorries on deck 3 to leave, then we walked down the ramp through a cascade of fishy water. Not much fun at all.
So if you are in the first four, then pull out and join the end of the queue. Later vans were all on the lorry deck.

It won't be a problem for me as I am more likely to be late and either last on or miss it altogether

You just beat me to it Jack.

I was typing as you posted.

There are not many businesses about who do that. Well done Celtic Link Ferries. (AGAIN)

Hi Rory, we are in Spain. You can call me at 0034 603 621 686.
As I said, it was a good trip, just a bit wet at the end.

I would not use any other ferry to go to France as Celtic is by far the best in every way. Have used them now many times and have never been disappointed.

Nice chat with Rory. He apologised profusely for our unusual incident. I would guess the boat was absolutely full with lorries that day, which is why we were down the ramp. Anyway, to be on the safe side - avoid first 4 to load.

Rory is a decent guy and JonMac46 you were probably unfortunate. For a company like Celtic Link to phone you and apologise is fantastic. I doubt if you would get the same treatment from many other companies. Glad the problem is solved.
