Just did a quick price check, dearer than Rosslare to Cherbourg on Celtic but, I"d save about £150 on fuel and about 4 hours behind the wheel, so... Mmmm, tho" I"m very loyal to Celtic, food for thought there ...

Just Googled the ship and she looks to be the same as the Stena ships on the Belfast-Birkenhead route which are the same as the Celtic link ship out of Rosslare. A bit basic and not a cruise ferry, but perfectly comfortable for us as we just go to the cabin for a kip, after a few at the bar of course ! We"re on holiday after all !! :-)

I did a quick price check - prices seem to be the same as Rosslare - Cherbourg.
However, the choice of cabins available is not so good. At the moment they only have four bed cabins - for a couple travelling that is not so good.
Interesting as it might be I will not be sharing a cabin with two people I'v never met :-|

I have always been pretty happy with the Rosslare -Cherbourg crossing... so looks like we'll continue with that :-)

I think if you book the cabin it is yours. I can't imagine them asking anyone to share.

Yes we booked 4 berth cabins last year and we had them to ourselves!

Can"t see them making anyone share, they have 4 birth cabins on the Stena boats, Belfast/B"head, been on them 3/5 times per year the last 10 years and I"ve never shared, even if I"m on my own. The "Epsilon" looks the same as the Celtic boat and cabins are 4 birth on it also. As I said,it"d be bit dearer for me but I"d save on fuel and about 4 hours drive if I didn"t go to Rossslare.

Well in that case it would certainly be an option for me next time - which I am hoping will be early next year :-)

I see it arrives in Cherbourg at 11am in summer which I am fairly sure is the time the Rosslare ferry arrived in the past.

The Rosslare - Cherbourg sailing arrives at 10am now which is handy for anyone with a long drive ahead of them.

We got off the Celtic boat in Cherborg at 12:00 in 2011 and 12:30 in 2012, so, that"s gonna" be one busy port at that time of day !

That's only 30 mins more than the roslare crossing and saves quite a drive for us northerners

My thoughts entirely, so.... I"ve booked for July. :D Enjoyed great service from Celtic, but a huge saving on driving time/fuel was just too good to refuse. Hope they don"t hurt Celtic too much, as I feel choice of routes/carriers is really needed on this island. Something we"ve found in the north, where Stena now have a monopoly on the routes to England/Scotland :(

The jury is out, this cannot do CLF any good which is a damn shame due to the reasons you state above.

We don't need another monopoly ferry company in Ireland.

I really would"ve preffered to use Celtic as a loyal customer, but the distance was the decider.

Money talks but so does service, I cannot fault Celtic Link they have an excellent customer service both onboard and office based and that has to taken into account.
