Anyone any solutions for our oven? It sparks up ok and you can see the gas flame but it is low and is not cooking obviously not getting to temperature (or nowhere near it!) any solutions welcomed :D

Our gas isn't low, our hob and heating are working fine and our fridge is a bit iffy! It didn't work in France this year when we ran it on gas and we thought the problem was it couldn't cope with the extreme heat. Hasn't worked 100% on gas since we came home. Any suggestions????

I once had this problem and discovered that the jet in the oven needed cleaned and I got it replaced. Talk to whoever services your motorhome as although I was a trained gas engineer in my past days it is essential that gas is dealt with by an experienced engineer. I would have a fair guess that you need a new jet in the oven.

Many thanks. Would you have any idea about the fridge not cooling it works ok when on hook up and driving battery. Could it be related to the oven?

Hi Julieann,

The fridge might need a new jet also, I have read that if the van is not parked pretty level the flame damages the sides of the fitting.

The van is supposed to be no more than a few degrees from level otherwise it cannot function properly, check this out first and then get an engineer to check the jet.

I assume that sufficient air and ventilation is available for the fridge? No blocked vents?

Julieann my advice to you would be to take it to a qualified motorhome dealer like Simon at Leisure Technical Solutions or Michelin man at Rossdowney who both advertise on this site and they will sort it out. They will not charge you a fortune both are honest guys and do a good job and are into motorhomes. Let me emphasise gas is not to be tampered with. It is serious stuff and even though I was trained years ago I would not do serious stuff with my own now as things have changed so much.

Thanks Davy for the advice. I am passing all this info onto my hubby but think we will leave it to the professionals - probably safer Julie-Ann & Nicholas
