Well there it is. Winter has finally arrived.

I don't mean the impending cold spell with frost and sleet etc;

I am sitting here with a cup of tea and eating the very last madeleine cake from this years France trip. :(

The wine is long gone, as are the gallettes, and the cheese went like snow off a ditch last July. :-/

I only have about three days supply of Frucci juice. I may have to sign up for counselling or rehab. :wallbash:

What makes it worse is that I am not in a position to book for next year yet.

Still, I have the free trip to Wales to see me through to next years foray.

What are you missing ?

Davy ( no emoticon for crying)

Running out of rose and white is not too far behind.

I have cheated a bit as I was over in march for 2 weeks and June for another 2.
Then my parents topped up my stocks a bit when they came home in September.

They are more or less a small plain bun, but don't taste the same as those found within mainland Europe.

Have you thought of using your wakes trip to get to Dover and hop across to Calais and restock

Hi petie,

A Madeleine is a small sponge bun with a vanilla flavour, usually baked in moulds that give them a scallop shell shape.

Absolutely fantastic when you take a bite and then a big slurp of tea. melts in the mouth. :love:

Sold in big bags of 12 or 20 in all the big supermarkets.

Interesting idea fat controller to scoot across to Eurotunnel or Dover. Have to do a bit of costing and thinking, although I quite fancy Wales as I have not toured there. We brought home a silicon mould for madelaines if I could get my daughter to make a few then I might survive till the summer.

I wouldn't worry about wales nothing but hills, sheep and rain :lol: a cheap return on the ferry could be as low as £30 for the hm and crew!
