Last night in local Garage

129.9 Unleaded
136.9 Diesel

It's came down a bit ^_^ nowhere near enough though! :bandit:

Another local garage is giving just over £35 worth of fuel for £30, I didn't ask, it has been tested by customs and no problems.

We have seen a drop of 2p plus VAT from last week, the interesting thing is it goes up faster than it comes down at the pumps. I only wish that heating oil would come down but it seems to be stubbornly high even though road diesel is dropping, as its winter I wonder why!

I am such a cynic

Borat was from here but the movie was filmed in Romania, with Roma's starring as the "natives" - he would never have been allowed. Make such an awful flick here.... Kazaks are oriental and it's a truly amazing and beautiful country!

Just a pity it's closed to the outside to a large degree still as it has a hell of a lot to offer the tourist! Unreal place for RV'ing/motorhoming, but I've only exert seen unimog or expedition type units here!

Guys I can tell you that the cheapest fuel is not necessarily the best. Can't beat BP supreme Diesel and it's more expensive.

Jack you can never be sure what you are getting with diesel, I find the applegreen on the moterways very reasonable, and with a big company like them they have to be careful what they sell, but you never know 🇧🇭

Taylor I've just bought a Citroen C6 and a Citroen friend told me to use BP Supreme only in it. I used Tesco and Asda and it was a disaster and I've stared using BP Supreme and WOW what a difference. It's about 4 p a litre more but I would feather pay it and enjoy driving the car.

I don't buy supermarket diesel.

I did a test recently with the car and BP or Maxol are miles better than Tesco.

Just filled up yesterday again after 686 miles and it took 53 litres.
Wouldn't have got 550 miles with Tesco diesel

Guys, its the old story you get what you pay for. I would not buy supermarket diesel no matter how cheap it was. All the big guys are interested in is making money for their shareholders.

I have to agree with you, Jack!
There is a very big difference in the quality of Diesel with much of the cheap Diesel being Green Diesel that is laundered using Chemicals and acids which wrecks pumps and injectors. often the dearer Diesel is cheaper in the long run.

Hi Whippy
Heard of that M50 alright....used it on way up but like to drive through city when its quiet as it wasn't on Sunday. Also hate forgetting to go online and pay toll in time. Don't use it enough to open account with the zapper thingy.

I have an account with eflow so the charge is taken from my bank account any time I go through. These is no additional charge and it means never having to think about it. We only go through about 6 times a year.

Before I sold the business, I always had tags on all company vehicles that did all nationwide tolls but just paid online for my classic/hobby cars - unfortunately that was almost always when it got to the final reminder stage so, I think, 41€ or similar before it goes to a debt collection agency.

Recently I received a mail having emigrated to Kazakhstan from such an agency and somehow for a €1.90 toll crossing they were looking for what had amounted to around 400€..... :o

They said they'd be calling to my home etc. so I informed them where I now lived and that if they mail me their flight number I'd have our driver collect them from the airport and there'd be a lasagne in the oven for their arrival....... :D

I got a polite letter back saying that the above had been noted and I wouldn't be hearing from them again............. O-)

Result (with no evidence requested) - not saying anyone else could use this ploy now...............................

There is an easier way. I'm in the same boat as most, I only use the M50 when going to the airport and I don't need or want an electronic tag for 5-10 uses per year.

You can register your vehicle reg with the M50 crowd and they bill you on number plate recognition. No annual fees and you never have to remember to go online and pay again. It's done automatically.

I have my car & carols car registered on my account and it gets paid directly every time we use it. I can't remember if its paid via paypal or thru visa card details, but its taken care of automatically. No more fines for late payment... The best thing is you get a receipt by email showing the time you passed through and how much it cost you. Handy when doing up your receipts after a business trip.
