Hi all, I was talking to Cllr George Lawler on Thursday and he told me that at the moment Wexford Co Council are looking at the possibility of putting in facilities for motor-homers in three locations around the county. This is a complete reversal of the situation a few months ago when he brought it up at a council meeting and was shot down from all directions.
The three locations they are looking at are Kilmore Quay (ZWN-82-F46), Hook Head (Y5M-39-RL8) and New Ross(Y6Y-97-BQ8). Go to http://www.myloc8ion.com/ and enter the code to see the sites.
Kilmore Quay a lot of you are familiar with, it's the area behind the pier where campers park at present. The New Ross site would be close to the marina which is only a 5 min walk to the town centre and very close to the Dunbrody which is well worth a visit. http://www.dunbrody.com/ In The Hook they are looking at the possibility of putting the campers behind the wall which will give some protection from the wind. This will mean that cars can park up and have an unobstructed view and we can see over the roofs of the cars. Win win situation all round. A few encouraging letters or emails from outside the county to Adrian Doyle, the Co manager wouldn't go astray.
I'll keep ye posted as soon as I hear more, things are looking up here in the Sunny South East.
