Buying second hand.

A friend of mine saw a beautiful camper recently which suited his needs both for family and budget, and decided to buy. I organised a moisture meter for him and told him where to check for water ingress. He brought it with him when he went back to close the deal and found the camper was damp/wet in all the usual places, off the scale in some. The seller was just as shocked as my mate, as he had bought it himself in good faith, and had it garaged since he bought it. So beware when buying, bring a meter with you, inductive is best.

Scary indeed, that's why we went for the Motorhomecraic Damp meter. It has came in very handy a few times and alerted people early to a damp problem. I use it approx once a month :)

For checking campers etc don't buy one with prongs, you don't want to damage your panels, or someone elses. You need to buy an induction one. The good ones are very expensive, about €250 - €300, but there are cheap ones on eBay from china for about €35 but I don't know how good they are.
