I don't know Ally, it looks like that camper is parked with its nose hanging 4ft out into the road...

It's not a road but also part of the car park. I will let the craic'er in question defend himself though :)

I wonder is it in a disabled bay as it looks suspiciously wide for a standard parking bay? I dont see a blue badge in the photo

Getting very redfaced as I parked like this ONCE. We're new to motorhoming and could do with a course on MH etiquette!

I think its a case of the number of spaces available and the space available, if by parking like a car into a space the back/front end of the van is sticking out into path of other trafic then if the available spaces allow it then park length ways. I know that with the bicycles on the rear I need to be carefull how I park as I wouldn't want a car or whatever to come along and hit something they dont fully see all because proper procedure dictates to park a certain way.

My Adria either length or width just will not fit into a car space. So in the interest of safety I need at least 2 wide and 2 long so at times it's easier to park long ways and I only take up 3.

A survey with the towns in Ireland that have designated Motorhome parking bays would be interesting. I know Askeaton in Limerick, Cobh, Midleton, and Bandon, co cork, and Lehinch co Clare have them . Is there many others out there?

The "motorhome parking" in Middleton is not big enough for a motorhome, may be a transit van conversion might fit but nothing longer,

Defiantly nothing with a bike rack
