Did anyone ever overnight park on the seafront in Lahinch? I was there today and there are five designated Motorhome parking spaces! I was talking to the parking warden and he said that there are no overnight parking signs, but people do overnight park and you could be told move on by the Guards. Sounds like a no overnight parking wink wink thing.

if you are too tired or drunk the garda or any police force cant ask you to move off or anyone else for that matter fines may follow but you cant be asked to move on, i would go for the tired excuse myself but you cant be made move on, your their liability then

That's true Eirebus as I had my door knocked in England in the early hours of the morning coming from Folkestone. I was exhausted and pulled into a secluded lay by and the Police told me to move on. I said I was exhausted from driving and pulled in to get some sleep and their attitude soon changed.

I was there numerous times this summer, but not in the camper. But, I knocked on doors a few times for a chat. Very mixed opinions. Some stayed but more didn't, citing a "didn't feel right" feeling. Also the spots are really tight together, so opening hab doors could be tough. And finally, the local police station was closed for good earlier this year and the town has a reputation in peak season. Hope this helps.......Hobey

Yes Hobey, Thats the kind of feedback I was looking for. I was parked in one of the spaces, The third one on the right in the way in, I didn't find the width too bad, but the length was very short, our van is only 6.32m and didn't fit within the length of the space. However should Clare Co. Co. be commended or not for making some attempt at welcoming Motorhomes?
