As you enter the center of Skerries keep left towards the harbour. You will come to a small roundabout with two exits.Harbour road straight ahead and Strand road to the right.Keep right past the public toilets there is free parking where you will encounter many like minded souls of an evening.

Heard over the weekend that there has been a shakeup in management at the four seasons carlingford over the past few months. Think it was a case of a new brush sweeps clean.

If Carlingford does not want us then go somewhere else.We all know that there are plenty of good spots on the east coast within a short drive,ie.Fitzpatricks,Annagassan,Dundalk, Drogheda and one of our fav's, Skerries.
When parking at the hotel in Carlingford we would always use the hotel first and leave the receipt on the dash to show them that we were not complete spivs, but from now on we will give the village a wide berth. We used Fitzpatricks recently without any problems.Road noise was definatly a problem but the quality of food and service easily made up for that.Highly recommended.

Thanks for this - love Skerries and we normally stay in a farmers yard.

This is bad news I was always made very welcome at the Four Seasons and always told the reception I was staying the night. We used the bar both Fri and Sat night and usually had the carvery on Sunday before returning home. Would have thought they would have appreciated the business but it's their loss.

Just to advise, over the xmas holidays a van was broken into on the pier in Carlingford. The pier at the castle. Car keys, house keys, laptop, Satnav etc stolen. This is not a rumour we know these people.

I've already quizzed our travelling companions about this, and they were not aware of anywhere, but. In our quest to wild in all 32 counties, we're having trouble finding anywhere in Meath. After seeing Deirdres' post I figure someone else who does the east coast will be able to help. So, where to wild in Meath, that is the question.

Hi Helgahobby - i live smack bang in the centre of meath - i know the county very well and if you have any specific area i can probably find you somewhere - for a start there is a carpark outside the Garda station in kells thats very safe - Navan has a carpark opposite the fire station ive seen campers use - south of Trim there is a large pub ( closed now ) with a carpark suitable to stay - let me know and i will try to find you somewhere suitable

Yes, saw that, but seems to have a fairly narrow entrance. Cheers anyway.

yes - carpark at community centre on the Dublin side of the town - large and safe . Also Lidl carpark behind main street - no barrier and seems a good area - both are within 5 minutes of centre of town
