Hi

we are Jon and Sue Good from Shrewsbury. We ve been Motorhoming for 7 years, spent a lot of time in Europe and morocco. Wanted to come to Ireland for years but havent because your ferries are sooo expensive. But now bitten the bullet and arriving in Dublin on Sunday for 2 weeks. We tend to prefer aires not really interested in posh campsites because we've got our own facilities and would rather spend the money in the pub!

Our loose plan is to travel north see the Mourne Mountains - belfast and Titanic, Giants causeway and on around the north and down the west coast untill we run out of time.

Any suggestions of good aires/wildcamping places or OK campsites are welcome as are must see places to visit.

Thanks in advance.

Jon & Sue

Welcome to Motorhomecraic.

Have a good look through the forums you will find an abundance of info on Motorhome Parking spots. If you subscribe you can access our Motorhome Parking map with over 350 spots.

If you are visiting North and going into Titanic Belfast I would suggest Shanogue CL, ok I am biased :D but we regularly get people visiting the Titanic quarter staying with us and we run them to the train staition, short trip into Belfast.

We d just like to say thanks for the information we ve found on your forum.

We ve had a very pleasant 2 weeks in Antrim, Down, Donegal and Fermanagh and being able to use a few non-campsites and the warm welcome we ve recieved has been great.

The scenery has really surprised us and we will definitely return once we can pluck up the courage to pay the ferry prices again ( dover calais costs us abt£50 or 25%)

Thanks again

Jon & Sue

Glad you had a good time!

The ferry prices are a sore point for all of us on here, there are ways of getting it slightly cheaper but you would think the Tourist Boards and MLA's & TD's would get their act together and do something about the missing tourism in Ireland, but it's just not going to happen anytime soon.

The same reply comes across everytime it is challenged "it is a commercial decision"
