Yeah it's very big but much easier to board the train than to board any of the ferries. It's really the way to go to France. If one books early they price difference is not all the big.

Great video, I want to do it. Pity it's so expensive to cross the Irish Sea. Now all we need is a tunnel from Rosslare to Fishguard, got a pick and shovel anyone?

We've only been on Eurotunnel twice. Being cautious we arrived about an hour earlier than we should and the automatic entry ticket gave us the option of waiting or going on an earlier train.
Couldn't fault it !!!!
Normally we would book a one way trip a few weeks in advance and when we decide to return we would again book with a few weeks notice.
Once when we had to return from the continent to England at short notice we paid through the nose on a ferry.
I don't know what's changed, but due to a change in circumstances I'm looking at booking for this weekend and prices for either DFDS or P&O Ferries on Sunday afternoon are £63 and Eurotunnel £105 one way.
Much cheaper if you go earlier or later in the day.

tesco clubcard points can be used on eurotunnel (I think its 3 to 1 on points)
my last crossing cost me the princely sum of £3 return using tesco e-vouchers
BTW you now dont have to go through all that posting of coupons etc
when tesco send you the codes just telephone eurotunnel they sort everything
you can't do it over the interweb
but I always like to talk to someone when I'm booking makes me feel more human

Been on it many times commercially (van +trailer and trucks), but not with the RV, lpg power is not allowed , it really is a "gift" to use and a very civilised way to travel.

Hi, very very informative video, and well worth viewing. Unfortunately I am a 'Rosslare Ferry' man due to the complication of having to cross over the Irish sea and crossing overland to Eurotunnel, but the vidoe is very useful.
