Motorhome parking in Lisburn

Went shopping in Lisburn last week. We then parked the motorhome in Bachelor's Walk for about 45 minutes whilst we went for our lunch. It was free for two hours however when we returned to the van there was a parking ticket on the windscreen, the offence we had committed was an overhang into another parking space. Has anyone else encountered this problem? You would think when there is a recession on they might give a little leeway.

I wouldn't pay it I would lodge an objection. You pay road tax and if they are going to be that strict they need to provide spaces that suit motorhomes. Get on to you're MLA.

For future reference there is a free car park which you could put the motorhome in for shopping, it's at the bottom of benson street just off the roundabout going into tesco's and close to the bow street mal.

And as jack says, challenge the ticket.

Had the same thing with my car, wasn"t parked within the lines, just about got away with it. The recession is the reason "they " ticket us for a slight misdemeanor, the private co"s that run parking now, are after every penny. Kind of anti tourist behaviour like that is what makes people go elswhere, as a contrast, go to France and you don"t have to look hard to find free parking, it"s everywhere  Bit far for a weekend tho" :'(

Yes I agree with you there is no country as motorhome friendly as France, that's why we all love to go there, and they deserve to get tourists.
